Playwright

I started writing plays as a student at Cambridge University.

My first professional production was Paint Her Well for the BBC, a 90 minute Monday play on Radio 4, starring David Tennant.

As well as two further radio plays, The Last Truffle and Dear, I have written nine stage plays: The Furious Czar, Athens, The Madman, Children of The Mist, A Woman in Berlin (book dramatisation), Revolution, L’Espace du Vrai Amour, ChildMinder and The Garden of Love.

ChildMinder reached the top 20 of the 2015 Bruntwood Playwrighting Competition will be staged in its world premiere 8-10th June 2023 at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, followed by a tour to Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock and The Byre Theatre, Saint Andrews.

My new play, The Garden of Love, is a three-act exploration of atoms, time, empire and our fallen world. I will be developing this in a workshop in 2023.

I am also developing a TV drama series with Al Smith (Lifelines (Radio 4), Rare Earth Mettle (Royal Court)).
